Hey,
Sorry I have been gone for a while, been busy working on my projects which i will be showcasing one at a time. Kind of like a series of "a-dress-a-day" posts. Today, its all about kaftans.
A Kaftan is a comfortable, versatile, decent and beautiful garment, which takes away the focus from the waistline. Kaftans can be full length and go till the ankle; or can be shortened to the
hip size. They can make a comfortable and elegant garment. Kaftans are one of the classic vintage dresses that still have a big
impact in today's fashion world. It resurfaced and was embraced by women in the 60s and 70s. Kaftan dresses will be the perfect addition to your wardrobe for Spring & Summer 2012. Not only will they make the perfect swimwear
cover-up,
but you can use them as a layering piece for everyday wear; pairing them with leggings. They are perfect for
any occasion, whether as lounge wear for home, or evening apparel.
There are numerous prints and designs available for kaftan dresses. Kaftan dresses are flattering for all figures. Many kaftan
dresses are available in one size to fit all. The sleeves may be long or within
elbow length.
Accessories like a sash or belt can be worn for a more striking style.
I decided to incorporate a bit of African style by using Hitarget cotton Ankara and locally done embroidery. I love it. What do you think?
